KeumBoo is an ancient gold on silver Korean heat application using a very thin pure gold sheet on silver without solder. The pure gold layer bonds and permanently attaches very well on matte and textured surfaces using the torch and a burnisher once the silver surface is purified and cleaned. This level 1 class will introduce KeumBoo on flat/non dimensional silver jewelry like a pair of earrings and a pendant. Ear hooks, posts and jump rings will be provided to have your pieces ready to wear after class.

The simple process requires minimal effort and tools and is suitable even for beginners. This beautiful technique allows you to add the richness of a high karat gold without the high expenses of gold. It enhances and makes your one-of-a-kind art jewelry more unique and interesting for sure.

This class you will learn:

– basic jewelry making skills like: cutting, filing, sanding, texturing, soldering, polishing

– how to cut out patterns, preparing silver for the KeumBoo process, which tools and how to use them for the KeumBoo application

– how to finish your designs properly using this method

– demo included before starting out
