METALSMITHING LEVEL 1 WITH INA STEHLE; July 31st -August 1st

Ina is a German apprenticed goldsmith and is visiting Vancouver for one year to find new inspirations for her work and to inspire others. She made her apprenticeship at a well known jeweler’s in Aachen from 2001 until 2005 to learn the traditional handcraft of a goldsmith. During this time she participated in additional goldsmith training for special techniques and won several prices from the guild of goldsmithing. After becoming a goldsmith she worked for different businesses to improve her technical skills and became self employed in Hamburg in 2007. She designed and manufactured mainly one of a kind jewelery – fascinated by modern design and the beauty of gemstones. You can see some of her works at www.inastehle.de

SILVER SOLDER PENDANT Level 1,  August  7th

11am – -2pm or 2:30pm- 5:30 pm

During the course you will be lead through basic of soldering using hot iron and led free solder. Technique is based on stained glass course meaning you will discover basic stain glass process including straight glass cutting, using copper tape, solder, flux, and aging techniques using black patina.

You will be provided with detailed handouts with pictures, and all the info where to buy fordable supplies and set up your own studio at home. All the supplies during the course are provided. You can bring your photographs if you want to use them for your pendants other wise you can use pictures from my personal gallery.

SOAP MAKING,  August  8th

2 -4pm

Using all natural ingredients, pure essential oils and olive oil you will learn how to make your own handmade spa products. You will be provided with handouts and additional soap recipes.

POLYMER MAGIC,  August  8th

10am-1pm

Would you ever believe you could use a pasta machine to make polymer clay beads, or extrude thin spaghetti shapes to decorate beads.  In the Soigne Polymer Magic Course that’s exactly what you will do.  During the course you will make 4 different kind of beautiful beads in various sizes. We will be using a Millefiori [The term millefiori is a combination of the Italian words "mille" (thousand) and "fiori" (flowers)] technique for all the beads. During the course you can either spend the entire three hours making your beads, or spend time making beads and then building your own necklace with them.
