Indigo dye is an organic compound with a distinctive blue color (see indigo). Historically, indigo was a natural dye extracted from plants, and this process was important economically because blue dyes were once rare.
Experience the exciting ancient and mystical process of dyeing with indigo, a plant-based dye that gives the beautiful shades of “indigo blue”.
In this  workshop we will use natural Indigo dye to learn four Shibori designs.
Shibori is the Japanese art of resist on fabric. We will be using cotton napkins to practice these designs. Shibori or Japanese “tie dye “ is a resist dye technique that uses folding, binding or compressing  to achieve a pattern.
Everything is supplied, just wear old clothes and bring your sense of fun.
